Más de 170 Animales Afectados por Pólvora en Bogotá

Durante las festividades de fin de año 2024, la salud y bienestar de los animales en Bogotá ha sido gravemente afectada debido al uso de elementos pirotécnicos y ruidos fuertes. Desde el inicio de diciembre de 2024 hasta el 6 de enero de 2025, el Instituto Distrital de Protección y Bienestar Animal (IDPYBA) registró un total de 170 animales con afectaciones relacionadas con la pólvora, de los cuales 162 son domésticos y ocho silvestres.
Engativá se posiciona como la localidad con el mayor número de casos, sumando 75 animales afectados, seguida por Chapinero con 14 casos. Las principales afectaciones reportadas incluyen susto extremo y permanente durante el evento (38 casos), traumatismos e intranquilidad constante (34 casos), escape y pérdida del animal (12 casos), huida momentánea (10 casos) y, de manera más preocupante, 3 casos de muerte asociados a estos episodios.
Mariana Martin Leyes, directora general del IDPYBA, hizo un llamado enérgico a la ciudadanía para evitar el uso de pólvora. “Las festividades de fin de año no pueden representar afectaciones para nuestra fauna", afirmó. "Desde el IDPYBA insistimos y hacemos un llamado urgente a la ciudadanía para evitar el uso de artefactos pirotécnicos en ésta y cualquier otra temporada del año, fomentando el cuidado responsable de la fauna doméstica y silvestre”.
Para reportar eventos relacionados con el uso de pólvora y ruidos fuertes, la ciudadanía puede acceder a la encuesta habilitada por la Subdirección de Cultura Ciudadana y Gestión del Conocimiento en la sede electrónica del Instituto [AnimalesBog](https://www.animalesbog.gov.co). Esta herramienta permite identificar el impacto de la pirotecnia y otros ruidos en los animales, facilitando la toma de decisiones en beneficio de la fauna del Distrito.
